Mudroom Storage Bench Are Ideal Storage
An old church pew makes a sturdy mudroom storage bench sit down and pull your boots off for mudroom. Under seat, slide wicker baskets to hold bulky equipment or specialized equipment such as snow boots or rain boots. Hang a stained glass, bought at a thrift store or recycle shop building, on a wall. Attach a watt lamp 10 or lower behind windows to make a light into night and a smooth, shiny piece of art. A tall cabinet in same wood as bank maintains its top shelf for hats and gloves. Remove remaining racks and add pegs for hanging jackets and coats. Inside cabinet door, attach hooks to catch scarves and belts. Post a sign framed on wall above pew that looks like a sampler and says Bless This Mess. Mudroom new clutter-free is blessing.
If family needs extreme organization, creating a mudroom storage bench along one wall of mudroom, against a beadboard support. Now separate banking cubicles individual room height, one for each family member, by bolting plywood flat arches on front of bench and further define spaces with plywood walls of arch of facade to wall, above and below table.
Paint mudroom storage bench, beadboard and arches of same color – a high gloss white goes with everything and is easy to clean. Within each cubicle, contact pins to wall to hang jackets and cork tiles glue to side walls of notes and messages. Within each section of bank, placed a wooden box with wheels that is easily removed to place bulky shoes or sportswear. For even more storage capacity, build a high shelf inside each arch top for items less used as ice skates. Each cubicle gets a mattress bank in a different color, so it’s easy to tell gaps.
